Journey to becoming TheBoldAdvocate: Protecting the Vulnerable

Hello there! My name is Rebecca, but you might know me as TheBoldAdvocate. I am very happy that you have stumbled upon my page, as it shows that we both share a strong desire to safeguard our children and create a secure environment for them to flourish free from child grooming, exploitation, abuse, and trafficking. Allow me to tell you a little about my difficult journey and how it culminated in me becoming TheBoldAdvocate.

A Personal Awakening:

As an adult, I had an eye-opening realization that I had unknowingly been groomed during my teenage years by someone I believed was trustworthy. Throughout my childhood and teenage years, into my twenties, several situations happened in my life that fueled my transformation into TheBoldAdvocate. It empowered me to make a courageous choice — leaving behind my comfortable corporate career, encompassing numerous roles in management, sales/marketing, risk mitigation, and business consulting — to embrace the position of Communications Director & Child Advocate at a non-profit organization. This was the beginning of a fiery new chapter of my life that I was extremely excited for.

A Mission Unfolds:

In January 2023, I embarked on a new journey, joining the Evangelical Council for Abuse Prevention. This role has me crisscrossing the United States, working to empower Christian ministries, youth groups, schools, and more to prevent abuse and respond effectively to its signs. My mission is clear: to challenge the community to better protect children by being able to identify predators, keeping them out of the church, and equipping individuals to identify grooming, abuse, exploitation, and trafficking. Through education and action, we can create safe spaces for the next generation to embrace their faith without fear.

The Heart of the Matter:

Let’s face it—the world can be a wicked place. I don’t think I have to tell you how evil has continuously attacked the next generation in our time. They’re being sexualized in media, abused in their homes, exploited online, groomed in person, and trafficked around the world. As Christians, we’re called to denounce this wickedness and stand up for the vulnerable. Inspired by Jesus’ teachings on the severity of mistreating the vulnerable, I believe the responsibility to care for them is just as great as the penalty for those who harm them. Before Jesus came to this earth as fully man and fully God, children had little to no value. In Mark 10:13-16, the disciples thought the children to be an annoying distraction but Jesus gave children tremendous value by telling the disciples not to hinder the children from coming to Him for such belongs the kingdom of heaven.

Empowering Change:

Through TheBoldAdvocate platform, I’m reaching out to like-minded individuals who, like you, have a deep care for children and a desire to protect them. Combining social media with digital products and in person speaking events/workshops, I’m dedicated to equipping people to help children. You can teach yourself and children how to identify predators, abuse, trafficking and more. You can learn how to practice situational awareness so whether you are at the grocery store, the beach, church, or your own home, you can be equipped to respond positively in a vital situation.

I stand before you as someone who has transitioned from a successful corporate career to becoming a passionate advocate for child protection. Through my online influence and role with the Evangelical Council for Abuse Prevention, I’m working tirelessly to empower individuals to stand up against abuse and safeguard the vulnerable.

TheBoldAdvocate is not just a title; it’s a call to action. Will you join me in protecting the next generation? Together, we can make a difference.
